The very first morning I was here, I hiked up to the top of Arthur's Seat to see what I could see. Here is looking north over the city at the Firth of Fourth. I didn't want any anyone to miss this view.
Our show has been officially running now for two days. The dress rehearsal on thursday was horrible. I was rather grave when I came home that afternoon. On Friday though, it was as if it had never happend; the show went great. I think we have all been itching for an audience. Our venue it small--no more than fifty seats--but the last two days we have had about 15 or 20 for each show, which makes it feel really cosy. The crowd has been responding to it very well, and I have bumped into a few individuals around the festival who saw it and loved it. We had three reviewers on the first night and one yesterday. Only one has been published but they gave us five stars! While this excites me a great deal, I was very confident in the show, and am not entirely surprized. The cast is doing a great job, and James has put together a great piece...even though I disagree with some of the ways he chose to direct it. The only thing I am really concerned about right now is my voice. I started to get a cold a couple of days ago, and my voice is getting very tired. I am downing a bunch of fluids and tea and lemons and Vitimins and whatever else I can find, but I am concerned that it doesn't get any worse or turn into pnumonia again. There is no fluid in my lungs, but I am more susceptable to have it swing that way having had it once. I don't go anywhere without my scarf and I've got a water bottle beside me right now.
I really love this place. I could see myself living here some day. I like it better than Oxford. I got in contact with Racheal Dunsmore and she is going to come to the show. I stopped by Gregory Tailor Kiltmaker and found my tarten. I ordered some fabric swatches as I have the choice between the Ancient, Modern, and the Muted colors. I am leaning toward the muted, but we shall see. It is going to cost 499 pounds to order the thing: quite the investment, but this is something that's really important to me. I will take some pictures of the tarten when I get them.
Cheers,
Tyler
